چکیده

Objectives: To evaluate the accuracy between two different electronic apex locators in detecting root canal perforation middle and apical portion during retreatment. Methods: Sixty freshly extracted mandibular premolars were taken to this study, which divided into three groups of twenty each. Group I: Control Group, II: Positive control without perforation, III: Negative with perforation. In all groups, access cavity preparation was done followed by cleaning shaping using X smart Endomotor Protaper Gold file system (Dentsply Maillefer, Switzerland). The specimens prepared such that made group III on mesial side at approximately 5mm from after determining working length direct visualization stored for database. All obturated AH plus sealer F3 gold gutta percha points later incubator temperature 37°C 7days. After 7 days, removed samples solvent (Xylene), Neo-Endo retreatment files. These teeth mounted Protrain Endodontic training kit (Simit Dental, Italy) detected Dentaport Root ZX (J,Morita) Propex Pixi a distance 2mm restored Type II GIC keeping 35 K inside perforations reading recorded Statistical Analysis: data obtained analyzed descriptive statistics, ANOVA (Analysis Variance), Paired t test through SPSS window (version 22.0). Findings: case third showed 87.37% Propexpixi 82.89%. accuracies are 89.28% 79.76% respectively. both perforations, there statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). more when compared locator. Novelty : This study provides novel approach as it compares Zx detection Ex Vivo study. Keywords: ZX; Electronic locator (EAL); pixi; endodontic kit;

Accuracy of electronic apex locators to detect root canal perforations with inserted metallic posts: an ex vivo study

INTRODUCTION The detection of possible root canal perforations caused during a metal post placement is frequently difficult to diagnose. The aim of this study was to investigate the accuracy of apex locators to diagnose such perforations. MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty mesiolingual root canals of extracted mandibular molars were instrumented (30/.04) and a post space was prepared. A root canal ...

Accuracy of three electronic apex locators in anterior and posterior teeth: an ex vivo study.

INTRODUCTION The aim of this study was to determine in anterior teeth, bicuspids, and molars (1) the accuracy of 3 different electronic apex locators (EALs) in detecting the apical foramen and (2) the accuracy of digital radiography in determining the working length (WL), compared with visible control under a microscope. METHODS By using radiovideography (RVG), we measured the lengths of 120 ...
